Predator Vs Judge Dredd Vs Aliens: Splice and Dice Review (John Layman, Chris Mooneyham)
You know what’s interesting about Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens? Nothing.
An emoji-themed cult leader being pursued by Dredd and an unoriginal Doctor Moreau-type experimenting with splicing Xenomorphs with humans and animals bring the three franchises together for a brief and forgettable argy-bargy.
They all predictably do their thing – Predators hunt, Aliens intimidate, Dredd grimaces – and no part of the story really stands out as especially exciting. I don’t usually mention the lettering but Michael Heisler’s work on this book was rubbish with more than a few letters appearing outside of the word balloons.
John Layman writes a good Dredd though – he’s got that bite and intensely aggressive and arrogant attitude you don’t always see with crappier Dredd writers. Chris Mooneyham’s art was ok and Glenn Fabry’s covers were excellent.
Is it worth reading Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens? No dice!
