Unfinished Tales Review (Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips)
What if George R. R. Martin was given a secret ghost writer with a bag full of great ideas for how to finally end A Song of Ice and Fire - would he accept it, if it meant keeping the ghost writer’s identity a secret? And, if after delivering the finished manuscripts, what would he do if the ghost writer threatened to expose their secret - would he resort to murder?

The Power Fantasy, Volume 1: The Superpowers Review (Kieron Gillen, Caspar Wijngaard)
You know how a lot of people think Superman is a boring character because he’s overpowered - nothing really hurts him besides the green rock and he can do whatever, whenever, however, effortlessly. Because he’s Superman. But it’s too much and makes it really hard to get people invested in a character so wildly unrelatable. Now imagine the entire cast of a series were ALL Superman. That’s The Power Fantasy.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Volume 1 Review (Larry Hama, Chris Mooneyham)
Volume 1 is an interesting way of framing a book that starts with issue #301!
Larry Hama has been writing GI Joe comics on and off for over 40 years. His first run started at Marvel in 1982 and ran until 1994. The series went on hiatus and was picked up by IDW in 2010 with Hama writing again and ran until 2022. This third iteration began at Image/Skybound in conjunction with Robert Kirkman’s Energon Universe endeavour in 2023, so, if the pattern holds and Hama lives until he’s 86 (he’s currently in his mid 70s), there’s another 11 years of Hama/GI Joe comics to follow! Gawd help us…
